The National Buffalo Foundation acquired the bison exhibit to extent the foundation mission, to be the trusted souce for bison research, education funding, providing leadership and strengthening partnerships to pro-actively enhance while sustain the bison industry. The NBF brings together a community of stakeholders to celebrate, promote bison’s heritage and raise awareness of that story.
The exhibit embeds the bison in the larger narrative of human interactions with natural resources that represent a historical awareness of the need for sustainability–a critical theme in our global economic and cultural discussions. By focusing on bison as a shared resource, Bison illuminates the past and present of this great North American mammal as a vibrant part of our future.
